Examining access routes and bleeding risk in women undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention
GL Buchanan & A HoyeRecent improvements in antithrombotic strategies during percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) have led to a reduced incidence of periprocedural ischemic events and stent thrombosis. However, as a consequence of this, bleeding complications have perhaps gained recognition as the most common problem observed. When such an event occurs, the outcomes are inferior and can add significantly to the morbidity and mortality of the individual requiring intervention.
